Bench Layout Guide
Every Goodreau boat is built with purpose and the bench layout is a big part of that. These aren’t just seats. Each bench plays a role in the structure, flotation, and overall performance of the boat.

This guide breaks down what each bench does, what can be modified, and what must remain for safety and Transport Canada compliance.

15’ Models

The 15’ layout is simpler but follows the same core principles — strength and safety come first.

A – Bow Bench
Structural and sealed for flotation. Required for safety and compliance.

B – Middle Bench
Structural and sealed for flotation. Provides hull support and rigidity.

C – Back Bench
Structural and sealed for flotation. The access hole for motor mounting is not required for turnbuckle motors, but it can be added if needed.

17’ & 19’ Models
These models include four bench positions, designed to balance strength, flotation, and usability.

A – Bow Bench
Structural and sealed for flotation. This bench is required and cannot be removed or altered.

B – Dummy Seat
This is the only flexible bench in the layout. It can be removed or upgraded into storage depending on your setup and needs.

C – Middle Bench
Structural and sealed for flotation. This bench reinforces the hull and must remain in place, but can be shifted 5" toward the back to allow for more front space. This is a popular option when running a subfloor or with the dummy seat removed.

D – Back Bench
Structural and sealed for flotation. Includes an access hole for motor mounting. This bench is required and cannot be modified.
